Much of the music and videos on itunes store is DRM protected, which means these files can be played on a limited numbers of apple devices, this is fine, since apples have produced the most amazing and pleasant devices by far(but who knows, see what they had accomplished in 90s after jobs retired), but to books? I beg to differ, i believe that the point of digital book is to enhance the people's ability in reading or in our case, listening, to be able to have the access to our libraries from anywhere at that moment in time, a more slick term to describe the case is to manage the library "in the cloud".However, as appealing as the cloud sounds, it can't be realized due to the DRM protection which indicates that an audio book purchased from itunes can only be used on no more than 5 apple devices, so, if i want to listen my itunes audiobook on PSP, Blackberry, Creative Zen etc, the DRM protection need to be removed.a tutorial about how to remove DRM from M4B itunes audiobooks First download and install M4B DRM removal
Add files to M4B DRM removal, the software will detect if there's a DRM protection on your file.

related information Digital rights management (DRM) is a term for access control technologies that are used by hardware manufacturers, publishers, copyright holders and individuals to limit the use of digital content and devices. The term is used to describe any technology that inhibits uses of digital content that is not desired or intended by the content provider. The term does not generally refer to other forms of copy protection, which can be circumvented without modifying the file or device, such as serial numbers or keyfiles. It can also refer to restrictions associated with specific instances of digital works or devices. Companies such as Sony, Amazon, Apple Inc., Microsoft, AOL and the BBC use the power of digital rights management. In 1998 the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) was passed in the United States to impose criminal penalties on those who circumvent encryption
M4B files are M4A files that can be bookmarked, unlike their M4A counterparts. Thus, they are more often used for audio books and podcasts.M4A file is slated to become the new standard for audio file compression. It typically compressed with .AAC encoding; nearly identical to an .M4A file, but denoted as an audiobook and can be "bookmarked" by supporting audio players. The M4B extension is used by audiobooks downloaded from the Apple iTunes store; iTunes audiobooks are copy-protected using Apple's FairPlay DRM and can only be played on authorized computers using iTunes. M4B file has bookmark feature. On both Mac OS and Windows, open M4B format is supported by Apple iTunes + iPod, Windows Media Player, and VideoLAN VLC media player. For more information please visit /how-to-drm-converter/remove-drm-from-m4b
