Apple's "fair play" DRM system dictates that itunes purchased books, audiobooks, music or videos can be played on up to five apple computers that authorized by your itunes account, that means, if you found a slick HTC smart phone and want it very much, you'd think very carefully or even go through some sort of struggles to decide if it is wise to give up so many itunes purchase to move to another platform, same case applys to sumsung galaxy phones, kindle, nook, psp or any other devices that are excluded from apple's DRM protection.
Some people said that. DRM's sole purpose is to maximize revenues by minimizing your rights so that they can sell them back to you. This sounds a little bit cynical and also isn't anything new, the argument about if DRM protection is justified for rightful users' interests always falls into grey. Since by definition the purpose of DRM is to prevent unauthorized redistribution of digital media, I personally think that if it is not for piracy but only personal use, itunes DRM removal is acceptable.
